Flint Trading, Inc. (“Flint” or the “Company”) is the largest manufacturer of preformed thermoplastic road and safety markings in the world. Based in Thomasville, North Carolina and established in 1987, Flint provides its government and commercial customers high-performance, retroreflective preformed thermoplastic pavement markings and related services. Flint’s products are used in intersections, crosswalks, onramps, bicycle paths, airport taxiways, and a variety of commercial areas for enhanced visibility, durability and flexibility to maximize safety conditions.
Background to the Transaction
Given prior success in both owner-operated businesses and the road infrastructure industry through the April 2007 acquisition of Ennis Paint, Inc., Brazos was able to demonstrate that the firm could help Steve Vetter, CEO of Flint, drive further growth in revenue and earnings. Brazos was introduced to the Flint opportunity through Bryce Anderson, CEO of Ennis Paint. Brazos successfully structured a transaction that resulted in partial liquidity for the management shareholders and a flexible capital structure to allow for significant future growth.
